DODECAHEDRON LAMP

/ DEC. 2019

Exploration of full-sized 3D printed household objects. This piece is an informal floor lamp printed in separate pieces and assembled with screws and nuts (without glue). The carefully tuned infill layers create a concentric, repeating pattern along the surface and the multi-material red face adds a secret splash of color when turned on. The shadowing of the supports inside was adjusted over several iterations to block the offset threaded holes from shining through.

Access to change the bulb or swap out the cord or other pieces is done with countersunk screws on back held in with pressure-fit nuts.
